Very cool! I hear that on being able to work out at home. I had a basement home gym similar to yours at a duplex I rented out when I lived in CT, but my current apartment cannot fit everything so it's sitting in our warehouse. For now, it's Best Fitness (a local gym) for me :)

I just started about a week ago, but I'm really trying to stick with it (learning a language)...so we'll see how long that lasts :) The 1.5 hour workout time includes everything. I'm actually doing P90X at my house. I have a small home gym that gets me by enough to do the full workout (which other than weights (or bands) and a pullup bar, generally uses body mass to do the workouts. There's nothing like being able to workout at home!

@Leigh - your case is a perfect example of where cutting back email probably isn't a good idea. If you're bidding on time-sensitive jobs, you need to have email open more often. How about a different email address for those types of emails though? That way if you have your email open all day you only get interrupted when it's important.

@Dave - man, I cannot imagine trying to learn a new language on top of everything you do. Something I'm definitely not very good at :) And I don't know about you, but a 1.5 hr workout for me isn't really 1.5 hrs when you factor in time to get ready, driving, warming up/cooling down, and pre/post workout meals, and showering. Turns into a 3 hour ordeal!

Great post, some very informative suggestions. Running a couple web business myself and still have my daytime gig makes it hard to find time. On top of that, I've recently fallen into a pattern of wanting to do about 1.5 hour workout everyday and about 30 minutes of learning a language. That cuts a drastic amount of time out every single night. I've had to learn to cope with it, and it makes me think...what was I doing with that 2 hours previously?

This was a great post, Adam. I struggle the most with these things. I did try to cut down on e-mail a while back, but I ended up losing out on a client (another writer responded sooner), so I quickly went back to my original e-mail schedule.

I am trying to work on the rest of the list. I watch very little TV, so that one is taken care of. I just need to use my time more productively.
